MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OHIO
Middleburg Heights Community Center

|
 |
  |
Working with The Sports Management Group
gave us confidence that we could build this Center and effectively
operate it. They became an integral part of the team early
in the process. Their expertise in the layout, design, and
development of community recreation facilities along with
the extensive information they provided in staffing, programming,
and cost/income analysis proved to be vital in making us feel
comfortable that our goal would be reached within budget
and on time. Their follow-up has been excellent. The Sports
Management Group was very helpful in balancing aesthetics
with function. When the building opens, we'll be staffed,
trained, and ready to go.

When Middleburg Heights assembled a team of
architects and consultants to plan the largest and most expensive
building in the City's history, they involved The Sports Management
Group as Programming and Design Consultants. The facility will anchor
the west end of the municipal campus in this Cleveland suburb of
14,000 with a business-based day population of 40,000. The Sports
Management Group assisted the architects in making detailed layouts
of all sports, recreation, and community areas so that the design
reflected programmatic intent.
"This Center will be not just sports, but
a family-oriented, social gathering place," commented Recreation
Director, Carl Guarnieri. He added, "The facility is complex,
with lots of detail, and is unique in that our community has never
had a history of swimming and yet a third of it is water, with a
water feature in the lobby."
