The Sports Management Group was able to stretch
our vision beyond our initial concept paper. They brought a level
of detail to our planning efforts in terms of program design, facility
layout, and program management that has provided a unique and comprehensive
perspective to the endeavor.

University of Northern Iowa Wellness/Recreation
Center Wellness and recreation go hand-in-hand at the University
of Northern Iowa. A sophisticated addition to the University's existing
Physical Education Center brings the School of Health, Physical
Education and Leisure Services together under one roof. The Center
provides advanced teaching and research facilities for Motor Behavior,
Biostatistics, Biomechanics, Wellness, and Exercise Physiology,
as well as an extensive Student Wellness Center and additional practice
facilities for varsity athletic teams. The Sports Management Group
served as Programming and Design Consultant for the new facility.
The lively atmosphere of the Center invites visitors into an array
of recreational venues, instructional programs, and social spaces.
Dedicated November 1998, the award-winning facility's high visibility
on campus attracts a diverse constituency who gather day and night
to exercise, learn, and socialize in an atmosphere that encourages
well-rounded and informed involvement in recreation and wellness.
