The 25,000-sq. ft. facility LEED Silver certified project includes an indoor recreation pool with a waterslide, play features and a lap area for instructional programs. 

...Though perseverance, funding for the $24 million project was secured from multiple sources, including $11 million from Measure DD Oakland Trust for Clean Water & Safe Parks, $6 million in Measure WW &ndash; East Bay Regional Parks funds, $3.2 million in Measure I Oakland General Obligation Bond funding, $3 million in State Proposition 40 funds and $2 million from the Oakland Redevelopment Agency.

These are highlights from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) semi-annual Consensus Construction Forecast, a survey of the nation&rsquo;s leading construction forecasters.   Recreation and amusement construction is down 14.4% in 2010 and is forecast to increase by 8.1% in 2011.
